Jake Day – Pastor of Teaching and Discipleship
Jake grew up in Kitchener, Ontario and was saved in his early teen years, when the Lord opened his eyes to see his sin and desperate need for a Saviour. By being born again, God changed his heart to stop loving his sin and gave him a love for Jesus Christ. Through much stumbling and immaturity in following the Lord through teen years, God was gracious to help Jake grow as a disciple of Jesus. Jake pursued a career in firefighting after high school, but soon came to be convicted that God intended for him to enter vocational ministry. Finishing school as a firefighter, Jake immediately traveled to East Africa for several months to discern whether the Lord would lead him into permanent missionary work. Putting the idea on hold, Jake decided to begin his formal study to become a pastor at Redeemer University College. Meeting his wife Bryn at the university, Jake and Bryn got married and moved to Cambridge in pursuit of an internship at Redeemer Bible Church while continuing education at Heritage College & Seminary. Eventually, Jake obtained a Bachelor in Religious Education and a Master of Divinity, afterward taking a position at Heritage Fellowship Baptist Church starting October 2017. Jake and Bryn have moved to the area and are excited to be putting down roots in Ancaster. They are eager to see the Lord's Kingdom come and will be done in this region.
